Another Visitor

Craig Godwin, a friend from my University of Chicago days, was finishing a job in Taiwan and thought – “Hey I’m on the other side of the world, maybe I’ll drop in on Laura and her family.” Happily for us, he did, but it wasn’t exactly convenient – it takes 18 hours to get from Taiwan to New Zealand. We really are remote down here.

He came when John and Ruthie were on a dad-daughter trip to the South Island, so the girls and I showed him a good time.

Here we are at High-Tea at the James Cook hotel. The other little girls are Claire’s good friend Grace and Eleanor’s chum Ruby.

Craig’s knack for engineering inspired Claire to design and build an elaborate marble shoot.

We enjoyed summer in Wellington, playing around on the waterfront
