Day 3 Otego bike trail—Rain and cold. I decided to do the daily car shuttle early today, so I got up at 630 and hopped in the car to Waitata, then put the bike together for a cold wet 35K ride back to the B&B on the Otago trail. Breakfast at 900 with the girls, then on the bikes for our wet adventure.
They did great, considering. Certainly felt like the middle of "Roaring Forties" weather today.—(see sign above at 45 degrees latitude.) The new rain jackets and pants kept everyone pretty dry, but it was pretty cool too. We stopped for hot chocolate after about 10K, then spent late afternoon in Raferly swimming in the municipal indoor pool.
Then on to Peter’s Farm Lodge , and evening stay in a old 1880’s homestead cottage.
